Cherishing The Moments

61

By A.C. Sylvester

1.       Take time to notice changes in nature; like when a certain leaf changes color or a flower starts to bloom.

2.       Acknowledge all your personal gifts and strengths that G-D has given you.

3.       Help others as much as you can, because someday you may some help as well.

4.       Show people you love or care for them; like writing thank you cards, physical affection, or simply saying ‘GOD Bless you’.

5.       Realize that actions, unfortunately, often speak louder than words, so show or act in the ways that could start a wave of improvement.

6.       Always listen to your body; if you’re hungry - eat something; if you’re tired - get some sleep; if you’re overwhelmed - find a way to get unstressed.

7.       Learn from others that are making or have made a difference in the world; imitate and employ their actions yourself.

8.       Every single thing you say, or hear, or see, or feel, or even smell can be a learning experience, so take time to learn from it.

9.       Learn about your ancestry and embrace your heritage.

10.   Listen to old people even when they tell the same stories repeatedly; they are saying them for a reason.

11.   Ask open ended questions as much as you can, whether it is to a specific person or to a group of people to open discussion and conversation.

12.   Don’t be a stereotypical feminist; explain why you are a feminist and don’t judge people that aren’t.

13.   Be open-minded and non-judgmental when hearing about all religions; if so many people feel and believe that way, there may be some truth to it.

14.   Always offer old people or differently able people you’re seat.

15.   Hold open doors for everyone and make sure to say thank you every time someone opens the door for you, twice if it’s double doors.

16.   Be mindful of your emotions; don’t linger on something you can’t benefit from.

17.   Read quotes; a person said them for a reason in a specific way at a specific time in history.

18.   Refer to physical differences respectfully; someone who’s short statured is a little person -not a midget, young people are children-not kids; people that have different shades of skin are of a different completion – not black or white or brown or red.

19.   Consume lots of water; it is the most natural and healthiest way to flush toxins out of your body.

20.   Always smile and greet strangers while passing them, it can make a big difference in their self-esteem, attitude, and mood for that day.

21.   Only apologize for something you did if you regret it; if you don’t regret it, apologize for hurting or affecting another person’s emotions.

22.   Assume people are trustworthy unless they give you a reason to show they’re not.

23.   Feel from your heart, think with brain, and articulate your thoughts with your lips; in that order.

24.   Always know a variety of coping skills for unexpected events.

25.   Love yourself unconditionally, forever, every single day.
